I have some exciting news for everyone out there with a heart.
Boy Meets World might just get a sequel series.
Girl Meets World.
On Disney Channel.
This is a very confusing time for me. On the one hand: NO, DISNEY CHANNEL, NO. You can play reruns all you want, but you don’t get to mess with a classic and give it cameos by One Direction or characters who wear sequins.
On the other hand, Ben Savage is in talks. The title is reassuringly traditional. Nobody in the cast is otherwise committed to a series, save for William Daniels on Grey’s Anatomy, and I’m sure he could still make an appearance. FEENY MUST MAKE AN APPEARANCE. What if they really do get most of the gang back together? What if we find out what happened between Shawn and Angela? What if Cory and Topanga’s daughter is the Topanga to Shawn and Angela’s little Cory? (Human little Cory, not pig Little Cory.) What if this works? What if it’s good? What if it teaches a new generation the joys of Boy Meets World? What if being old enough to say that makes me want to cry in a corner for a few minutes?
In short, this is not the time for serious concerns. This is the time for denial dreams. And so to you, show, I say this: “You do your thing and I do my thing. You are you and I am I. And if, in the end, we end up together, it’s beautiful.”
But what do all of you say?
