365 Days of TVmouse

TVmouse is a year old today!

On September 4, 2012, I started this blog the only way I knew how–with “Francie doesn’t like coffee ice cream.” I didn’t have any grand plans. I honestly just needed writing samples to apply for a job in entertainment journalism.

Without TVmouse, I might not have moved to New York, because I wouldn’t have applied for that job. I wouldn’t have met one of my closest friends through the application process. I wouldn’t have fallen for blogs that in turn helped me fall for Doctor Who, meaning I’d still be living a Tennant-less existence, and nobody wants that. I wouldn’t be wearing an “ALLONS-Y” ring right now, and I wouldn’t have spent last Thursday posting photos of Benedict Cumberbatch on a friend’s Facebook wall every half hour. I would probably still care what people thought of me on Facebook.

Don’t care what people think of what you love. Just run with it.

glad i met you doctor who

  1. “Don’t care what people think of what you love. Just run with it.” Best. Advice. Ever! Yay for 1 year, that is an awesome milestone! As much as people want to say that the internet and social media have ruined personal communication (and I’m not saying it hasn’t had a negative effect), I know I can say that for myself, my life and world are soooo much richer because of the people I have met online through writing about TV and such.

    1. Thanks so much, Sarah! I totally agree–love that there is this platform for people to come together and talk about TV. If nothing else, it’s shown me that I’m not the only crazy person out there 🙂
